I Love These 50's Ads, Makes Me Nostalgic
Friday, September 12, 2008
Hey honey. Hubs? Are you reading this? Just wanted to make you aware that I'm not "store-testing" for fresher coffee. Really, I'm not. I was hoping you wouldn't find out, but, oops, the cats out of the bag on this one. Does that make you want to put me over your knee. Uhm, okay, fairs fair.

Um, you don't need ads from the 50's for this kind of nostalgia. Just come to rural Canada. 3 friends and I were at my friend R's campsite at a private lake resort a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, whilst celebrating our successful skinny dip (i.e. no one drowned), we were a wee bit loud. The park supervisor, a charming woman named Lou, told us to clam up. We questioned her judgement. She told us that if she got anymore "lip", she would call R's husband.
To "tell" on us.
Seriously.
woe be unto you!
Wow.
*chuckle*
Hahaha! Is that ad genuine? *snort*
Hey - I'm not store testing for fresher coffee either - but my husband won't care. Someone call Johnny Depp and tell him - maybe he'll put me over his knee. ;)
I have been planning, since May, to do a whole series of essays/posts/rants/whatever squirts out of my brain these days based on this massive pile of Woman's Day magazines from the 1940's 50's, 60's, and 70's.
When I finally get my act together and do it, please don't think I'm stealing your idea!
Of course, now that I see how well you are doing this, I might chicken out.
These are absolutely priceless!
Disturbing, but priceless.
Hahahahahahahaha.
